Tree nursary

In our sensory garden we have tree nusery where we grow oak and elm trees and hopefully once they have grown quite a lot we will plant them in the ravelston woods which is just down the road. This will help the woods to develop and some of the trees we will plant are quite rare amd will hopefully grow and grow in the surroundings of the woods.Innocent

Frog

How cute is this frog!

We love to see the things people find in the wildlife garden but we cannot look at them and disturb them all the time. You might freak the insect or animal out and scare it away from its habitat giving it barely any chance of surviving. If the insect or animal has a baby they will run away and leave the baby, causing the baby to die.

Slug

In the Sensory and wildlife garden there are lots of things to find if you look in the right place. There are spiders, slugs, newts, frogs, ants and many, many more!

We have an ant hill for ants and a stick pile for insects. We also have a pond where there are nutes and tadpoles. Near by the pond there are logs and plants and rockeries so that when the tadpoles turn into frogs they have a place to stay. We also find slugs and snails in between the logs and rockeries. We have lots of different places for animals and insects to habbitat and we try not disturb them. Smile

WillowShelter We have been planting many of these living, growing willow structures around our school. They are great fun to hide and play in!

Today we were out in the Sensory Garden harvesting the lettuce and radish. Then we took them around the classes to ask if anyone wanted some organic veggies. Loads of people were tasting the veg, some weren't too keen while others wanted more.
